About this event

Harmful Practices: Forced Marriage (2.5 hours)

This 2.5 hour workshop delivered by Asian Women's Resource Centre is an important area of learning around harmful cultural practices, within the wider context of safeguarding children and the VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls) strategy.

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the workshop, participants will:

  • Understand the cultural significance of forced marriage.
  • Have an increased awareness of the risks and prevalence of forced marriage.
  • Have increased knowledge of how to identify women and girls who may be at risk of any harmful practices.
  • Have knowledge of referral pathways and support services for women and girls at risk of any harmful practices (including forced marriage, so-called honor-based abuse, and faith-based abuse).
  • Have knowledge of the P&ACT partnership

Please note this workshop will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams, unless the Covid-19 situation improves and we are able to revert back to face to face training.
